Frequently asked questions
- Are my images uploaded to a server?
- No. Every conversion runs locally in your browser using the Canvas API, so your images never leave your device and we never see them.
- Which formats can I convert between?
- You can convert between PNG, JPG/JPEG and WebP, and use a GIF as input (its first frame is converted). WebP usually gives the smallest files at a given quality.
- Is there a file size or quantity limit?
- There are no artificial limits — convert as many images as you like. Very large files are limited only by your device’s available memory.
- Will converting reduce my image quality?
- PNG is lossless, so quality is preserved exactly. For JPEG and WebP you control quality with a slider, and the tool shows the resulting file size so you can find the right balance.
- Does it work on a phone?
- Yes. The converter is fully responsive and runs in any modern mobile or desktop browser — there is no app to install.
